''O SAL DA TERRA'' E.P.FERREIRA

Synopsis: "The Salt of the Earth" is, in its form and essence, an authentic road movie. The Brazilian roads set the stage for the drama, being the scenery for the journey of an itinerant priest. On his way, in his chapel-truck, he meets remarkable characters and discovers the universe of plurality and humanistic sense the road presents. Characteristic human types of this environment, as the truck driver, the gas station serviceman, the cook, the whores, the highway patrol officer and the wanderer, justify priest Miguel's mission; a cleric that left his church in the suburbs twelve years earlier and accepted the mission of helping people on the road. Between the loneliness of the road and unexpected meetings, the priest draws, always in gas stations, a revived Gospel, illustrated by individual dramas and punctuated by the Mass celebration. His journey does not end, but continues in each new day on the road.
