''ASSET MANAGEMENT AND PRIVATE BANKING CONFERENCE'' 13/4 HOTEL GRAND BRETAGNE . A FINANCIAL TIMES EVENT

Elena Panaritis is an institutional economist, author, and Greek MP. She has developed an institutional reform method, “Reality Check Analysis,” revolutionizing policy application in economics and recognized as one of the most practical and successful application of institutional economics to property rights. Ms. Panaritis’ groundbreaking work is based on rebuilding trust among all constituencies and transforming informal property rights into vibrant, growing formal tradable economic and social assets.
As an economist at the World Bank for over a decade she spearheaded several institutional reforms, including that of property rights in Peru,  described in her well-reviewed book “ Prosperity Unbound: Building Property Markets with Trust” (Palgrave Milligan) and cited as International Best Practice and Innovation by the World Bank. Ms. Panaritis is also an early pioneer of social enterpereneurship and impact investing in tranforming informal markets into formal ones in economies under stress and designing associated public policy.

She has taught housing finance and institutional reforms at the Wharton School - University of Pennsylvania, INSEAD, Johns Hopkins University School for Advanced International Studies, and elsewhere. She blogs at www.prosperityunbound.com/blog
